Have you ever heard of the phrase “Greened Out”? Greened Out is a phrase in the world of Cannabis that refers to getting too high off your cannabis products. This can either be from consuming too many edibles past your limit or smoking too much at one time. Doing this can cause unwanted reactions such as dizziness, nausea/vomiting, headaches, increased heart rate & other not so desired effects.

This side effect can make cannabis undesirable for people again who have been “green outed” before which is very understandable as they were unable to achieve their desired effects. Getting ‘greened out” can be avoidable though!

Are you trying to learn where your tolerance is/how much your body can handle? Try these methods below, they might just hep you reach your desired effects :

  • Journal
    • Keep a small journal with you while you consume to document how much you take and how it made you feel
    • Ex: Took 2 (5mg) gummies at 5pm, by 6pm I felt chill & relaxed and at my limit, Took another gummie at 6pm, felt dizzy by 6:30 and had to lay down
  • Experimenting
    • Try strains with different THC %’s, while THC % isn’t the only determination that classifies the strain as potent it can still dictate whether its too potent for a person
  • CBD
    • CBD can help bring down psychoactive effects of THC
    • Try a 1:1 strain or edible, this may provide a calming sensation with a psychoactive effect
  • Advice
    • You can always ask your budtender for advice! They most likely have been in the same situation as well

  • Drink lots of water
  • Chew on peppercorns – this contains the terpene “Caryophyllene” which is known for causing relaxation and reducing anxiety
